Matt serves as the Partner in charge of First Chair. He joined Lohman Company in 2020 to start First Chair and focuses on building long-term relationships with business leaders and professionals. This enables him to help clients successfully complete their high-priority initiatives. He also has a history of serving clients in many different industries. He is a member of the Executive Partner Group of Lohman Company and serves on other boards such as Southwest Behavioral Health and Integra International.
Matt has been a professional in the accounting field for over three decades and has amassed a wealth of valuable experience. Prior to starting First Chair, he served as Vice President – Market Leader for a large global professional services firm. Matt has a solid foundation in financial and accounting operations and leadership as he started his career with a Big Four CPA firm and later successfully served in the roles of Senior Accountant, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer.
A dedicated professional and devoted team player, Matt always brings high energy to his work. Matt has found great success in his career due to his strong work ethic and philosophy of always treating people right.
Raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Matt continues to live in Scottsdale with his wife. They have two adult children. Matt is a very active “outdoors person” and loves living in the Valley of the Sun where it allows him to enjoy his passion of cycling. He generally rides six days per week and 9,000+ miles per year (and has done so for 20 years!). Matt also is an avid fly fisherman and typically finds a way to throw a line in the water on most vacations. Matt enjoys snow skiing and going to the beach, activities which are within just a short drive from home.
